Birdie

Humains et animaux évoluent sur le green d’un golf et permettent de s’interroger sur la crise des migrants et les sentiments contrastés qu’elle provoque. Cette performance multimédia utilise des extraits de films, la vidéo et des milliers de figurines. Les trois interprètes manipulent ce monde en désordre avec beaucoup d’humour, donnant naissance à un récit poétique et puissant, entre réel et vertige.

 War, famine and suffering on the one hand, an individualistic consumer society on the other… and between the two, birds that fly from one point to another, always escaping. On the green of a golf course, Agrupación Señor Serrano constructs a whole human and animal world in a show called Birdie, which explores the migrant crisis, the conflicting feelings it arouses and the way it challenges humanity. This multimedia performance uses film excerpts, video and countless figurines to stage an unusual odyssey. The three actors manipulate this chaotic world with humour and sincerity, creating a powerful poetic narrative based on a blend of reality and illusion.

The company Agrupación Señor Serrano creates collaborative shows combining performance, text, video, sound and puppets to showcase today’s world. Their innovative approach to theatre won them a Silver Lion at the 2015 Venice Biennale.
